Sorry for the delay you great americans. "Road Warrior" and "Choppa Henry" here writing you from interstate 10 passing through the town of bagdad, no shit. "woad rarrior" (steven prifte) at the helm barreling down the hot tarmac of florida and dissmantling road terrorists (liberals in hybrids) at every chance. Doolbox driver side jamming taylor swifts greatest hits, while tbone is chatting it up with shuebert who is battling a tremendous hangover, please send your support. Randy gorson and patty laying pots are holding down the rear.
Where to begin? Well "the flying dutchvan" departed the bay house at 4am tues 5/26, in order to kick the shit out of the day, and get to myrtyle beach as early as possible. The weather was snotty blowing 15 to 20, rain and 5-10 footers coming at the bow. This would be no three hour tour. But a new pilot was at the helm and eager to prove his worth, "the woad rorrior" steven prifte for short laid the throttles down and drove on through the morning with "road warrior" copiloting and navigating in his starboard side fitness ball chair. We arrived in myrtyle beach at 1:15 after a heart pounding 491 miles of road. "woad rarrior" had to be pried from his seat to use the bathroom.
Myrtyle beach: we set up in a beautiful hotel on the beach. Quickly ran to the sand and hit the water for an afternoon of body surfing and cocktails. For the evening we headed to a doolbox favorite "dueling pianos" and were treated to some great music. We decided to sleep in and departed at 11:45. Shuebert would take the helm for his debut appearance as freedom tour captain, shuebert logged 230 miles to savannah georgia, as soon as we hit the historic streets of Savannah we new we had to stay. Plus a much needed shower was in order after the sweaty haul from s.c. The night in savannah was uneventful less a great meal, a stroll on the town, and being chased down by a 250 pound coked up meathead who accused us of a boched stabbing.
5/28: the freedom tour departed savanna at 7 am behind the leadership of none other than "the road "warrior" himself. Old glory took a big risk by not taking the suggested route of 95 to jacksonville then across to 10 to get to panama city. Instead opting to take the rural 84 across georgia, much to our delight. The ride was spectacular with the boys pointing out awsome swamps where we could definitely hunt gators, the ever beautiful spanish moss, and great americans.
The freedom tour pulled into panama city fla around 2:45pm after 395 miles of precission from yours truly. After finding a hotel we ran straight into the beautifully clear and warm gulf waters. Hung out in the water all afternoon and sipped on bloody marys, compliments to putty layin' pots for his barkeeping tips. We grabbed a bite a tooters and had to shake off the waitresses with a stick, the boys enjoyed a night on the town and were able to sleep in before the "woad rorrior" would take the helm to new orleans. The big red white and blue is currently cruising through alabama on route 10 and just past the exit for bayou labatry. I will leave you with notable qoutes from the road.
